GLAR must take the lead and put itself at the forefront of environmental solutions and protection in our industry.

Objective: To identify solutions that support incentives for new sustainable development rather than mandate it as we are seeing in other jurisdictions. Use the opportunity to take these findings and report them back to the GAC and make recommendation(s) to the Board (if it deems necessary).

Start of December 2023 – Begin notification in E-News & Broker Manager update introduction, opportunity to participate.

1st QUARTER –

• How to be energy efficient at home?
  
• How to create a sustainable open house?
  
• Learning about the Energy Grid (Presentations by LADWP & SC Edison)
  

2nd QUARTER –

• “Garbage In, Garbage Out” (Presentations/tours by Athens Services & LA City Sanitation Department)
  
• Water Conservation (Presentations/tours by MWD, West Basin Water District and or LADWP)
  

3rd QUARTER –

• Sustainable Design and Building Technologies. (Presentations by Architects and Designers)
  
• Buying and Selling Sustainability (Conversation among agents and brokers)
  

4th QUARTER –

• Long term sustainable solutions that will be done for the 2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics. What happens to our built environment after these events?
