REALTOR® of the Year - The 'REALTOR® Of The Year' is awarded to a REALTOR® that is currently actively representing buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants in real estate transactions. Nominees should have a successful and active practice representing consumers and businesses in real estate transactions. Nominees will have displayed the highest adherence to the NAR Code of Ethics, MLS Policies, and ethical standards of practice. Nominees should have demonstrated significant support for organized real estate and its efforts to protect the industry.
Eligibility:
- Member must be an active REALTOR® in good standing with BH/GLAAR
- Possess outstanding achievement in ethics, integrity and professional stature.
- Demonstrate strong business cooperation with the Association Members
- Demonstrate involvement in BH/GLAAR activities, including serving on committees and participating in Association Events.
Commercial REALTOR® of the Year - The 'Commercial REALTOR® Of The Year' is someone who has demonstrated great support for the REALTOR® Organizations, and who's primary business is commercial in nature. Commercial REALTOR® nominees must be involved in the association activities and have demonstrated support for Commercial REALTOR® expansion and development.
Eligibility:
- Must be a member in good standing with BH/GLAAR
- Possess outstanding achievement in ethics, integrity and professional stature
- Demonstrate strong business cooperation with the Association Members
- Demonstrate involvement in BH/GLAAR activities, including serving on committees and participating in Association Events
Real Estate Service Partner of the Year (formerly Affiliate of the Year) - The 'Real Estate Service Partner of the Year' - formerly Affiliate of the Year - is awarded to a non-REALTOR member specializing in the services needed to complete a successful transaction. This individual will have made significant contributions to BH/GLAAR through their years of volunteer service and commitment to the real estate industry.
Eligibility:
- Must be a member in good standing with BH/GLAAR.
- Demonstrates a high degree of cooperation with the Association Members.
- Maintains high ethical standards.
- Maintains high business standards.
William May Garland Award - The 'William May Garland Award' is named after one of our founding members, and the first NAR president from Los Angeles. William May Garland was responsible for bringing the 1932 Olympics to Los Angeles, and led Los Angeles' business community in many ways. William May Garland Nominees should represent the ideals of REALTORS® making a positive impact on the greater community.
Eligibility:
- Must be a member in good standing with BH/GLAAR
- Must have a history of contributing to the success of their community
- Must uphold the ideals of the REALTORS® with high ethics, integrity, and professionalism
- Must have a history of supporting REALTORS® in the community
Lifetime Achievement Award - The 'Lifetime Achievement Award' is awarded to a REALTOR® who has had a significant impact through their contributions to the real estate industry through involvement and promotion of the local, state, and/ or national REALTOR® Associations.
Eligibility:
- Must have been a real estate professional and a REALTOR® for at least 30 years.
- Must be a member in good standing with BH/GLAAR
- Must have a history of contributions to the local, state, and/or national REALTOR® Associations, and Industry organizations
- Must have a history of support for REALTOR® Association Charitable, Political, and other funds that promote the industry
- Must have a history of involvement with REALTOR® Association advocacy, community involvement, and education
- Must have a history of participating in REALTOR® Association events
- Must have demonstrated involvement or leadership in REALTOR(R) Association governance (committees, etc.)
- Must have a history of contributions to their Community
New Awards in 2018
Rising Star Award - The 'Rising Star' is is awarded to a BH/GLAAR REALTOR® that has shown demonstrated and sustained growth and promise - not only in the business, but in the industry as well. The Rising Star seeks to identify those in real estate who are making a mark and will be future Industry leaders.
Eligibility:
- Member must be an active full-time REALTOR® in good standing with BH/GLAAR
- Member must have entered the business full-time within the last 8 years
- Member must have shown sustained growth in their practice through transactions, volume, or clients - to be verified with the office manager or independently
- Member must possess outstanding achievement in ethics, integrity and professional stature.
- Member must demonstrate strong business cooperation with the Association Members
- Member must have a history of supporting the various REALTOR® charitable and/ or political funds
- Members must have participated in some form of REALTOR® Association leadership through service on local/ state/ national committees, local/ state/ national directorships, or other support of organized real estate
- Member must have demonstrated support for their community through volunteerism, philanthropy, or other effort
Office Manager of the Year - The 'Office Manager of the Year' is awarded to an outstanding office manager that has worked to ensure their office's and agents' success in the business, in transactions, and with the association.
Eligibility:
- Office Manager must be an active member of BH/GLAAR
- Office Manager must have helped support REALTORS - from their office and others - by supporting, providing, or encouraging professional development.
- Office Manager must have actively assisted in ensuring that the office compliant with NAR's Code of Ethics Education requirements
- Office Manager must have actively assisted in ensuring that the office compliant with NAR's Variable Dues Formula and membership requirements
- Office Manager must have a history of supporting the various REALTOR® charitable and/ or political funds
- Office Manager must have involvement in BH/GLAAR committees, governance, and leadership at the local, state, and/ or national level
- Office Manager must have demonstrated encouragement in others for participating in BH/GLAAR activities, including attending events, pursuing professional development, serving on committees, and participating in Association Events.
Our Award Winners will be honored at our Annual Installation Gala on Saturday, January 19th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
